I've been on Secondlife for quite some time now. I've seen people come and go. I've been at the grand opening of some SL businesses, only years later to visit their EVERYTHING MUST GO sales. For some reason I log in every so often just to see the change. I rarely do anything anymore in SL... I'm not even building or creating anything anymore because of my lack of interest.
Anyway.. This post is more about my SL home. I've had numerous parcels and shops and houses on different private sims. So many I can't even count. But the one place I've always been at is Little Blue Island. Not my 'house' necessarily, but a place to call home. A place to see familiar names and to see creativity happen. I logged in today to find out that my favorite sandbox had lost it's adjoining simulator, Fermi. Is Little Blue next? I'd hope not.
This place is a sandbox. It's got an incredibly friendly staff (on most occasions), and the people that come here day to day are the same ones you might have seen years ago, building their first primitive house. It's interesting really, how time goes by and things change. Little Blue hasn't changed at all since my first visit over five years ago. Timeless, to say the least. Unfortunately the only thing that's changed about LBI, is that all adjoining simulators are nonexsistant. Fermi, as well as another that was a place where some residents made a place to call home.
I don't want to see this place rot with the rest of SL. Secondlife, in general, seems to be on a huge decline lately. There are less and less people logging in, less to do. The price of owning land is not worth it anymore, and Linden Labs doesn't have a clue about how to get their populace interacting with them anymore. Heck, I'd rent a simulator if it was remotely affordable in the sense that I wasn't paying more money for it than I do on my groceries every month. (I gotta eat, right?)
Little Blue is constantly needing help month after month to meet tier requirements from LL. Instead of a price break for being a land/premium owner for so long, there's been no change in price, even with the dwindling numbers of logins each month.
Go visit Little Blue.
Drop a linden or two to lend a helping hand.
Let my home thrive and survive!
