Steaming off on Steam

Kay, I lied about not being online, but not completely.

The Secondlife part I didn't lie about, but instead of going on SL late night, I've been logging on Steam to play some left for dead 2.

It really helps me blow off some steam before bed.

Get it?
Logging on Steam to blow off some steam?
Hurrrr!

The new beta-map has been out the past few days, 'Cold Stream' or something, and I thought I'd try it out on normal with a few other people. First impression was not so good. With only one of us starting out with a gun, and finding it utterly difficult to walk through all the debris and rocks and water, within the first two minutes I was frustrated.

Another pet peeve of mine is having individuals who've already played the map, that run their asses through thinking I'm going to follow them like a lapdog. Unfortunately when there are a million rocks and trees in my face while in unfamiliar territory, that's not the case, suckas!

One interesting beta-type moment was where you come under this bridge and one or two (or three?) airplanes drop bombs on it. Let me tell you every time I went under that thing, it was LAG CENTRAL. Everything goes in slow motion, and the game freezes, and the next thing I know, I'm being slaughtered in a corner by a horde of zombies.

Amused by the slow motion, I took a screen cap in awe of it. Not like you can tell things are moving slow.... but it's the thought that counts so you have something to look at other than all this text.

There, a picture for you.

I was playing with some very patient individuals eventually. And I swear we ran the last stage at least 5 times. Zombies were spawning NONSTOP without a breath of fresh air which made it so difficult on normal. I made a few friends after this all though, so that made me a bit content. I like friends. 83!

After finally making it to the chopper on my own as my mates went down, I stand in it wondering what happens next. (supposedly the level should have went through it's ending sequence) A Tank is down below pummeling everyone/thing, and I'm looking down like, ok wtf?

Next thing I know, the Tank as well as a big horde come running up this tiny little rope ladder hanging from the helicopter. I can't imagine a Tank tugging on that rope, the copter would have gone down in an instant. But oh, little ol' me sitting in the copter waiting for the stage to end, comes face to face with the Tank's fist, and I fly off the map, game over.

Oh beta maps... how you disappoint me even though I'm EXPECTING shit to go wrong.

Lastly, I really like Dead Center, but no one is ever playing dead center anymore. I guess it's old news. Before bed I saw ONE game of dead center running, and joined it for the hell of it. And heck, I got my lols-worth logging into not three standard team mates, but seven.....

Way too many cooks in this zombie blasting kitchen if I say so myself!

Anyway. Have a good night!
@_@
